Personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.


 

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.


 

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.


 

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.


 

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We use the information you give us lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and with the latest General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018. The Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”) gives you the right to access information held about you.  Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act.  Any access request may be subject to a fee to meet IC Taxis’ costs in providing you with details of the information it holds about you.  We keep all your data in line with GDPR and our privacy policy.

Terms and Conditions 

IC  Taxis make every effort to ensure that we are on time , but can not be responsible for natural events due to poor weather, traffic condition, sickness or breakdown. Whilst we make every effort to help find alternative transport for our clients, we can not accept responsibility for any loss to our clientele as a consequence. In the event of breakdown, we have no insured facility to provide onward transportation, the risk therefore lies with the passengers.

Luggage : IC Taxis will accept one large suitcase and one aircraft cabin bag per passenger unless prior arrangements are agreed. This luggage allowance will be proportionate to the number of passengers, for instance with a number of passengers less than 4, with arrangement, we may be able to take a slightly heavier quantity, also dependant on passenger payload.

IC Taxis will accept responsibility for any theft or loss of luggage, therefore clients travel at their own risk.

IC Taxis will not carry persons whom are over intoxicated or appear to be under the effects of substances and reserve the right to refuse travel.

​

IC Taxis will maintain vehicles to the highest standards and will charge £100.00 for any spoiling of the vehicle as aligned with Somerset West and Taunton council policy.

​

IC Taxis will take details of source and destination form our clients and will not accept responsibility if clear location information is not given.

IC Taxis will not accept any anti social behaviour, or threatening behaviour and will direct such occurrence towards the police. Any such behaviour experienced will result in the driver of the vehicle requesting such passengers to leave the vehicle.

ICTaxis will pursue any unpaid fare through the courts if not paid on completion of the journey.

In the event of a prepaid fee , IC taxis will return payment within 48 hours if at fault. 

No refund will be given if you do not turn up for a booked taxi with in 5 minutes of the driver turning up  will be charge for the full journey and the driver will be entitled to leave cancelling the booking and flag on our system.

No refund will be given if any passenger/person/persons seeks alternative travel before or after the driver has been dispatched or has turned up.

 IC taxis will not take any responsibility to wheelchair equipment, therefore passengers travel at their own risk.

IC Taxis will promise to carry out journeys within the confines of local authority Hackney Carriage and Private Hire rules and charge rates.

IC Taxis will carry guide and support dogs. The owners of animals are responsible for protection and cleanliness of the vehicle and animal  during such transit. Any damage to the vehicle will be charged back to the client via a main dealer estimate.

IC Taxis reserve the right to refuse to carry any animal that is not a support animal. If the driver agrees to carry the animal ,  the owners of animals are responsible for protection and cleanliness of the vehicle and animal  during such transit. Any damage to the vehicle will be charged back to the client via a main dealer estimate.

IC taxis will track airlines or ferries and trains for departure and arrivals, but can not accept responsibility for extended delays to arrivals or extenuation circumstanced such as traffic accidents, breakdown, illness, weather condition or any event that causes travel delay. Therefore clients travel at full risks pertaining to connections. 

AIRPORT CONNECTIONS 

We allow up to 1 hour parking within our prices. We can be as flexible as possible with flight deviations, but can not allow for diverted flights which is rare, without prior notification. On landing clients need to have mobile phones turned on to make connection with the driver. After this point , we allow for a duration of 45 minutes to collect and return to the car park.
